Known health issues - feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) this is a genetic disorder and breeders do screen for it.

The breed was developed in the 1960 in California and the first Ragdolls arrived in 1981.  All have blue and can be colourpoint, bi-colour or mitted.

The coat is medium length with a silky texture but will matt if left unattended so weekly grooming is essential. Exercise through play is also necessary to keep them healthy.

Their temperment is easy and laid back and they are affectionate although good socialisation is essential as kittens.
